thermoCRYPT

thermoCRYPTs are a range of temperature-reactive security inks. thermoCRYPTs change their color when they exceed a certain heat threshold: they become increasingly colorless and return to their original state after cooling.

thermoCRYPTs are temperature-sensitive: they become increasingly colorless (transparent) with increasing temperature. Above a mixable target temperature—the threshold temperature—full transparency is achieved. For example, overprinted designs can
be concealed and made visible through the application of heat, or optical disappearance effects can be implemented via integration in a window application.

The heat required to activate the thermoCRYPT effect is generated e.g. by rubbing with the hand. We offer a variety of temperature thresholds from 0 to 80 °C (32 to 176 °F).
